About the role:
Reporting to theManager Regulatory Approvals fortheFRXProjecttheCoordinatorRegulatory Approvalsis responsible for assistingin the provincial and federal environmental assessment andpermittingprocesses toacquireall necessary regulatory approvals for the construction and operation of an extension to one of our existingsteelmakingcoal operations.
The Fording River Extension (FRX) Project is a proposed extension of EVRs existing Fording River Operations(FRO)locatedin the East Kootenay region in southeastern British Columbia. The FRX Project isanticipatedto extend the lifespan ofFROby approximately 35 years. The Project is an opportunity for EVR to continue building on our commitment to responsible resource development.

In this role you will:

    • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
    • Assistwith the management and execution of the work of multi-disciplinary consulting teams including environmental baseline programs impact assessments and related budget scope management and schedule
    • Schedule and coordinate consulting teams for implementing environmental baseline programs and related reporting
    • Coordinate health and safety requirements for implementing field programs including spending time directly in the field
    • Assistwith the preparation of management plans Request-for-Proposals and proposal review processes
    • Track responses to comments and information requests and coordinate meetings and engagement events with government and Indigenous nations
    • Prepare status summaries schedule reporting materials and work with managers on approval of documentation
    • Provide technical administrative and project management support forpermittingprojects such aspermittingschedule budget scope changes risk log and document control
    • Support transition of permit approvals to the operations teams

Requirements:

    • Degree or diploma in Forestry Biology Agriculture Environmental Science Environmental Engineering or other related field or a relevant combination of education and experience
    • Minimum three years of professional experience in environmental management environmental assessment or regulatory field
    • Experience with permitting applications in the resource development industry ordemonstratedsimilar work
    • Knowledge and experience with permitting under the following B.C. legislation is an asset: Mines Act Water Sustainability Act Environmental Management Act and Forest Act
    • Experience with impact assessment work would bean asset.
    • Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent
$94000 - $116000 a year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience skills and competencies and considers internal equity.
