Housing & Food Services (HFS) has an outstanding opportunity for an Outreach and Marketing Specialist (Program Support Supervisor 1 (NE S SEIU 925 Supv)) to join their team.
Housing & Food Services supports over 10000 student residents and operates 40 dining locations on campus. With a team of over 1200 staff and students HFS is dedicated to enhancing student life through teamwork and excellent service.
Position Purpose
Serve as the primary specialist for housing outreach efforts andserve as a resource foraccurateinformation about theDepartment of Housing& FoodServiceshousing options. Coordinates and designs housing outreach efforts and supervises the housing tour staff.
Description of Duties
Coordinate the housing tour program for students parents and campus partners includingdevelopment training schedulingplanningand assessment of housing tours.
Supervision of student employees.
Independently advise studentsmonitor and evaluate student employee job performance.
Coordinate the processes designed to effectively select orient and train student staff; develop and lead the interview process and recommendselectionof applicants.
Assign schedule and manage work of student employees.
Plan and implement training and in-service activities;promoteopportunities for professional development for student staff
Oversee outreach events such as tabling and open houses including planningimplementationand staffing.
Plan organize and deliver presentations(in-person and virtual)about housing for studentsparentsand campus partners.
Recommend andassistwithdevelopment andimplementation ofcommunication strategiesregardinghousing options and processes.
Work withHFS (Housing & Food Services)Communications and Marketing to create content for presentations including slide shows handouts etc.
Compile and analyze data on new construction and leasing trends in theU Districtprivate sector
Maintain monitor and update HFS social media pages andonlinediscussion boards
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of presentation content andmodifyas necessary.
Act as a liaison between HFS Blanton Turner properties and campuspartners.
Deviseand implement new housing outreach procedures and exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying departmental policiesrulesand regulations.
Monitor program activities to ensure consistency with program goals.
Monitormaintainand approve expenditures from the Marketing and Outreach budget.
Provide recognition for staff job performance.
Implement the Departmental performance management process to address performance concernsamong Lead Housing Ambassadors Housing Ambassadors and Tour Guides
Serve as a resource for inquiries about:
HFS (Housing & Food Services)policies and proceduresregardinghousing assignments and contracts.
Inquiries about account balancesaccount chargesdeposits contracts refundstatusassignments applications payment due date extensions requests SDB chargelookups.
Serve assupport for the 9-monthand 12- month programcoordinatorsduring peak times of the yearincluding but not limited to:
Roomselectionfor returning and new students.
Special groupassignmentsfor student populations such as Gender Inclusive Housing Early Fall StartorEarly Arrival.
Respond to inquiries and resolve orfacilitateresolution of problems or complaintsregardinghousing assignments contractual obligations or dining or Husky Card accounts
Create and update policy/procedure documentation.
Accept check payments
Assistwith massmailings.
Perform related duties asrequired.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or equivalent AND three years of applicable experience in marketing and outreach.
OR
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license certification and/or registration.

Supervision Provided
The Program Support Supervisor works under generaldirectionand reports to the Student Services Operations Manager.
Supervisor Responsibilities
Supervise 1-2Lead Housing Ambassadorsand7-10Housing Ambassadors.
Lead a seasonal tour staff of 25-50 tour guides.
Position Dimensions
Thepositionsassignments and workload vary seasonally with continuous focus on how customer service attention to detail and work volume are balanced to ensure work is position requires an understanding and recognition of the Universitys complex and decentralized environmentand ofhow to communicate and coordinate with campus partners unit partners and customers.
Working Conditions
The work schedule reflects regular weekday office hours with the requirement to work evenings and weekends onoccasion.
