Job Summary
This position is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during a surgical procedure and maintains patient safety. The RN outlines individual care plans implements evaluates and documents care of patient during surgical procedures. Provides leadership to the OR team. Communicates with the patient and family OR team supervisor manager and ancillary departments. Participates in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education

Weekend Requirements : For Call Only - Very infrequent
On Call Requirements : Call Required on all days worked & weekends (they are not required to report to work on the weekends only to take call and would come in if a case were scheduled which is very infrequent)
Responsibilities
(40%)* Assesses the needs of the surgical patient and develops a plan of care specific for that patient. Implements and evaluates the plan of care during the procedure and makes necessary adjustments keeping patient safety a priority.
(30%)* Supervises activity in the room. Anticipates and coordinates any schedule changes for the room. Assembles equipment and supplies. Assists anesthesia as necessary. Monitors sterile field.
(20%)* Communicates with patient family physician OR team supervisor/manager and ancillary departments.
(10%)* Participates in staff development by attending in-services educational meetings staff meetings and other meetings/seminars for educational opportunity along with leadership and growth opportunity.
Requirement description :
- 3 Years of CVOR Experience - REQUIRED
- Open Heart Experience - REQUIRED
- Experience with the following cases: General Neuro and Ortho - HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Recent Travel Work History - HIGHLY PREFERRED
- ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION (Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at/after time of offer / Please obtain this information prior to submittal / Requests after offer can be cause for rescinded offer)

- Work History
- Skills Checklist current to 1 year pertinent to the speciality (CVOR) - REQUIRED DOCUMENT
- 2 Supervisory Reference Forms Completed within the last two years - REQUIRED DOCUMENT
- LARA and/or Nursys must state Active Michigan/MI License - REQUIRED DOCUMENT
- Active American Heart Association BLS - REQUIRED DOCUMENT
- Active American Heart Association ACLS - REQUIRED DOCUMENT
