Job Summary:
The Electrophysiology Registered Nurse will cover a leave of absence in an outpatient cardiology clinic. The role involves providing specialized nursing care within the EP lab including assisting with procedures such as pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction Watchman procedures cardiac ablations and device insertions. The nurse will also be responsible for patient education medication management and EKG interpretation.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with Pacemaker/Defibrillator lead extraction/removal
- Support Watchman procedures
- Facilitate Arrhythmia Induction
- Aid in Cardiac Ablation and Cardiac Mapping
- Perform Cardioversion
- Conduct Conduction Studies
- Assist in Insertion/Programming of AICDs
- Support Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Closure
- Assist in Pacemaker Insertion
- Administer Antiarrhythmics Antihypertensives and Thrombolytics
- Perform Cardioversion
- Interpret and manage Dysrhythmias
- Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG
- Provide patient education on lifestyle and medication adherence
- Charting in EPIC
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of EP Lab or outpatient cardiology clinic experience
- Cardiology background
- Experience with Pacemaker/Defibrillator lead extraction/removal
- Experience with Watchman procedure
- Experience with Arrhythmia Induction
- Experience with Cardiac Ablation
- Experience with Cardiac Mapping
- Experience with Cardioversion
- Experience with Conduction Studies
- Experience with Insertion/Programming of AICDs
- Experience with Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Closure
- Experience with Pacemaker Insertion
- Knowledge of Antiarrhythmics Antihypertensives and Thrombolytics
- Ability to interpret and manage Dysrhythmias
- Ability to obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG
- EPIC charting experience
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Familiarity with GLP-1 therapies in AFib management
- Experience in risk factor modification clinics or device clinics
- Strong skills in patient education
- Experience in quality improvement initiatives
Special Considerations:
- Must be willing to float between like units as needed within skillset.
Scheduling:
- 5x8hr shifts Monday-Friday
