We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll & Time and Attendance (T&A) Lead to support a large-scale retail organization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Workday Payroll configuration and deployments with a strong understanding of retail workforce complexities such as high employee volumes shift-based scheduling and compliance requirements. This role will lead Payroll and T&A deployments configuration and optimization initiatives working closely with business stakeholders HR Finance and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end Workday Payroll and Time & Attendance implementations including requirements gathering design configuration testing and deployment.
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Payroll ensuring best practices in configuration and compliance.
- Configure and deploy Workday Payroll solutions for retail workforce scenarios (hourly salaried overtime shifts multi-location).
- Manage and support at least two full Workday Payroll and T&A deployments.
- Partner with HR Finance and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
- Support integrations with third-party systems (benefits banking tax vendors time clocks etc.).
- Provide post-go-live support issue resolution and continuous process improvements.
- Mentor junior consultants and provide guidance on Payroll and T&A best practices.
- Ensure adherence to payroll regulations audit requirements and data accuracy.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10 years of overall Workday experience.
- 5 years of hands-on Workday Payroll and Time & Attendance (T&A) experience.
- Minimum of two end-to-end Workday Payroll & T&A deployments.
- Expert-level experience in Workday Payroll configuration and deployment.
- Strong understanding of retail payroll operations including high-volume payroll processing and complex time rules.
- Experience with payroll compliance audits and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Workday Payroll or Time Tracking certifications.
- Experience supporting large retail or multi-location organizations.
- Exposure to global payroll or multi-country payroll implementations.
- Prior experience in leading or architecting Payroll solutions.
