Research Assistant in Analytical Food Chemistry DTU Food

Do you thrive in the laboratory and want to contribute to research activities on chemical food safety We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented scientific assistant to join the Research Group for Analytical Food Chemistry at the DTU National Food Institute Technical University of Denmark (DTU). This is a full-time position within a dynamic and impactful environment where scientific activities are addressing current chemical food safety issues.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Were seeking a candidate whos organized motivated and passionate about laboratory science and analytical food chemistry. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently yet thrive in a team-oriented multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

• contribute to on-going project with laboratory analysis of chemical compounds primarily within the field of trace element determination
• assist in method development and validation
• operate maintain and troubleshoot advanced analytical instruments
• contribute to technical reports research projects and scientific publications
• contribute to student supervision and teaching activities

The ideal candidate has:

• extensive hands-on experience with practical analytical chemistry
• preferably experience with operation and maintenance of ICP-OES instrumentation
• experience with supervision of students
• experience with quality assurance of chemical analytical data

We are looking for a candidate with a structured working style and the ability to multitask with attention to detail. You must have a positive mindset and willingness to take on both routine and complex tasks. It is important that you have good English communication skills (both written and oral).

As a formal qualification you must have a masters degree in engineering or equivalent.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

Starting date is 1 March 2026 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.

The period of employment is 18 months.
