We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Cardiology to a Hospital in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality patient-centred care to individuals attending the Rapid Access Clinic and Emergency Department with cardiac complaints.
Practice autonomously providing specialist cardiac assessment clinical advice triage and management within scope of practice.
Liaise effectively with GPs consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and safe patient care.
Coordinate clinic appointments and cardiac investigations (invasive and non-invasive) in collaboration with administrative teams.
Obtain interpret and communicate patient histories ECGs cardiac monitoring and investigation results to the consultant team.
Perform clinical procedures including venipuncture cannulation and medication administration monitoring patient response and side effects.
Develop communicate and evaluate individualised care plans ensuring patients and families are informed and educated throughout the care pathway.
Advocate for patients while maintaining professional accountability effective resource utilisation and delivery of care within required timeframes.
Participate in clinical governance activities including audits quality improvement initiatives education programmes and service development including cardiac rehabilitation.
Support colleagues through effective communication staff education and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment reporting appropriately to nurse management.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) with current registration in good standing.
Postgraduate qualification in Cardiology/Cardiovascular Nursing is desirable; candidates must demonstrate a willingness to undertake postgraduate education if not already qualified.
Advanced Health Assessment qualification is desirable.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Minimum of three to five years post-registration experience in Cardiology Nursing with evidence of leadership capability.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of clinical policies protocols and guidelines in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Proven competence in comprehensive patient assessment including physical examination and detailed health history taking.
