The successful candidate will provide direct patient care in our occupational health unit diagnosing and treating clients according to state and national standards. This position requires a dedicated medical professional who can work independently while collaborating with the larger healthcare Functions Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:Clinical Care:Assess diagnose and treat patients according to established medical standardsPerform comprehensive physical examinations including vital signs assessment audiometry vision testing spirometry phlebotomy and TB skin testingPrescribe appropriate medications treatments and health regimensRespond to emergency situations and provide necessary resuscitative measuresAdminister medications via various routes (topical oral intravenous intramuscular)Order and interpret diagnostic tests including x-rays and laboratory studiesRefer patients to specialists when medically appropriateEnsure accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activitiesAuthorize and coordinate specialty and ancillary servicesQuality Management:Participate in quality assurance activities and data analysis to improve clinic operationsMaintain clinical competence and stay current with advances in medical managementSupport operational leaders in implementing patient experience improvement initiativesMonitor appropriate levels of care for clinic patientsMeet regularly with Medical Director to review policies procedures and outcomesSupervision:Provide direct supervision to Physician Assistants Nurse Coordinators Registered Nurses Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical AssistantsCollaborate with the Medical Director and clinical leadership teamAssist with orientation of new clinical staffCompliance:Maintain personal compliance with licensing certification and accrediting bodiesAdhere to federal and state privacy laws to protect patient confidentialityFollow infection control policies and protocolsComplete and comply with Standard Operating Procedures and policiesMinimum Qualifications:Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Occupational Medicine or other specialtyCurrent valid and unrestricted state license to practice as a physician in the state of GeorgiaValid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) numberAt least two (2) years of experience in occupational health or related fields (public health community health outpatient clinic emergency department ambulatory healthcare)Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart AssociationUS Citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearanceValid drivers license with excellent driving recordRequired Skills and Abilities:Sound clinical judgment and expert decision-making abilitiesStrong attention to detail with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills particularly when conveying sensitive informationIntermediate computer skills including proficiency with electronic medical recordsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with a healthcare teamWillingness to enter into practice agreements with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants as requiredPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand/walk for 8-12 hours at a timeCapacity to push pull lift up to 35 poundsAbility to perform sustained repetitive movements (e.g. CPR compressions)Our Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
