Job Summary
Kairos Power isseekinga highly motivated Government Affairs Intern to support our state federal and local policy and stakeholder engagement efforts. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong interest in energy policy nuclear technology and experience in government or public affairs. This intern will work closely with the Government Affairs team to track policy developments conductresearchand support external engagement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on federal state and local energy and nuclear policy legislation regulations and political developments.
- Track and summarize legislative activity hearings nominations and agency actions relevant to advanced nuclear and clean energy.
- Monitor keydepartments committees agencies and industry organizations and assess impacts on company priorities.
- Prepare briefing materials summaries newsletter and talking points for internal and external use.
- Support preparationand provided administrative supportfor meetings with policymakers regulators and external partners.
- Assistwith policy tracking and data entry to capture companys external engagements.
- Process and synthesize large volumes of information into clear concise and actionable insights.
- Assistwith drafting internal policy updates or stakeholder communications under supervision.
- Maintain organized records of policy research stakeholder interactions and legislative tracking materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in public policy political science energy policy engineering law or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in government affairs legislativeprocessesand current politicallandscape.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Basic understanding or familiarity with the nuclear energy industry and/or prior coursework or experience in energy policy regulatoryaffairsor legislation
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft clearconciseand well-organized summaries and briefing materials for a variety of audiences
- Strong research and analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Ability to quickly understand and synthesize complex regulatory and policy information
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Professional demeanor with strong verbal communication and presentation skills; able to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
- Prioritizes and ensures safety ofone selfand others
- Ability to proactively collect manage and transfer knowledge
- Ability toseekdifferent and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problemschallengesand issues
- Ability tomaintainconfidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive or non-public information.

The salary range for this position is $26/hour to $27/hour for employees working onsite at our Alameda CA headquarters. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California. Factors that maybe used to determine your actual salary may include your education experience knowledge skills ability and the market data for your work location and a comparison to other employees already in the role.
