Red Cross supports homeless transient and local people in Ceduna by providing them a safe welcoming space in the form of the Ceduna Community Hub. Visitors to the Hub can access wi-fi enabled lap-top computers a toilet shower and washing machine and a dedicated parenting room for quiet time with children and babies. The Hub also features a kitchen for meal preparation and a communal dining room for informal social gatherings. The OpportunityRed Cross Community Hub Volunteers assist Hub visitors to create and maintain social connections in this safe and welcoming environment. They facilitate positive interaction and activity amongst all who utilise the Hub ImpactAs a volunteer you will help vulnerable people to feel safe and improve their social connection by listening empathising and providing them with a friendly voice. You will have the opportunity to learn from many peoples diverse history and knowledge as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to requirementsFor this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check which will be organised through Red Cross. The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory.
