About the Role
Joining the team as a Nurse Unit Manager you will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational management of our Intensive care currently has 9 licenced beds with plans to expand and the NUM works with an excellent intensive care team to deliver excellent patient care.
This role will see you:
Demonstrate significant advanced critical care experience
Be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources demonstrating strong leadership
Oversee the day to day running of the ward skilled in ensuring hospital polices relevant to critical care are up to date with evidence-based nursing care incorporating quality and risk management.
Ensuring all hospital polices are adhered to especially recognising and responding to clinical deterioration invasive ventilation care post complex critical surgeries.
Organise staff education ensuring mandatory competencies are up to date - especially ALS training and overseeing an ICU training program
Be a positive mentor and provide clinical leadership and support to your team
Working with and supporting other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes
Assist in shaping organisational strategy improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
Youll be leading a fast-paced department and collaborating with a wide multi-disciplinary team dedicated to ensuring our patients receive holistic individualised care.
About you
You thrive on problem solving fostering a positive and supportive culture and providing dedicated and specialised advice to your team members.
Current registration with AHPRA
Competent in supervising leading directing and mentoring staff to achieve excellent outcomes
Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in acute care environment
Demonstrated extensive clinical skills and experience within Intensive Care Unit
Effective management of rostering processes and allocation of duties of both clinical and non-clinical staff
Post-graduate studies in critical caremill.
