Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced gold Plant Metallurgist with a background in crushing milling and flotation circuits to lead metallurgical activities at their gold processing plant in Mpumalanga.
Responsibilities:
- Managing metallurgical performance across crushing milling and flotation circuits.
- Track and improve key metrics such as crush size mill grind slurry density throughput flotation conditions and reagent usage.
- Manage sampling assaying and test work to maintain accurate procedures and reliable data.
- Conduct routine metallurgical accounting and reconciliation.
- Lead initiatives to improve gold recovery and reduce tailings losses.
- Develop and apply process enhancements for efficiency and performance.
- Deliver technical support and training to operational teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety health and environmental requirements while fostering a strong safety culture.
- Prepare and submit regular metallurgical performance reports.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering.
- 5 years’ minimum experience in gold processing plants with crushing milling and flotation circuits.
- Well-versed in gold flotation chemistry and process control.
- Background in gravity separation or downstream gold recovery techniques.
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Analytical problem solving organizational and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience in improving plant performance and efficiency.
