The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures policy and strategy technology development warfighter capability enablers systems integration defense industrial base and threat reduction to help shape existing and future space missions across the national security space (NSS) enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers including the U.S. Space Force U.S. Space Command Air Force Materiel Command and senior leadership at the Pentagon but also provides a broad range of technical support across the national space enterprise maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers portfolios as well as horizontal matrixed responsibilities across the corporation. Additionally DSG provides deep technicalexpertiseto the Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in the conception design acquisition launch and operations of satellite launch vehicle ground control and range systems.

We are looking for aSenior Systems Test and Evaluation Engineerin the Special Programs Division that will support the integration of developmental test and evaluation (DT&E) across multiple space programs.The Special Programs Division supports a broad array of Space Combat Power missions delivering warfighting capabilities needed for space superiority. These programs include major system acquisitions for multiple ground and space segments future architecture definition and research and technology for continuous evolution of space warfighting capabilities. As the Senior Systems Test and Evaluation Engineer you will directly support the Government Test Lead responsible for overseeing the planning execution and analysis of DT&E for orbital warfare systems to ensure effective fielding of space capabilities.

The selected candidate willbe requiredto work full-time on-site at our facility in El SegundoCAor Colorado Springs CO.

WhatYoullBe Doing

  • Provide systems engineeringexpertiseto supportintegrated test and evaluation for orbital warfare systems to includemulti-system test strategy development test plan review test executionoversight and test dataanalysis

  • Work closely with STARCOM test and evaluation squadronsandparticipateas a member ofthe Orbital Warfare Integrated Test Force

  • Support spaceacquisition program officesthrough DT&E

  • Support integration of space systemsto deliver combat-crediblewarfighting capabilities

  • Facilitate communication and collaborate betweenGovernment SETA and contractor teamsacross multiple program officesand test organizations

  • Routinely presentassessments of test artifacts to the GovernmentTestLead

  • Identifyrisk areas and mitigation efforts to meet mission objectives

What You Need to be Successful

MinimumRequirements Senior Project Engineer - Systems and Systems Test Engineering:

  • Bachelorsof Sciencedegree in a relevant technical subject area

  • 12 or more years of experience in relevant engineering/technical/operational aspects of National Security Space systems

  • Experience in space system test and/or integration

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a Program Office environment with a mix of government FFRDC and SETA personnel

  • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills

  • Willing to travel domestically approximately 10%(if based in El Segundomore travelmay beto support activities in the Colorado Springs area)

  • Current TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtainadditionalclearances which are issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship isto obtain security clearance.

  • Advanced degree in technical discipline (engineeringscienceor math)

  • Experience in GovernmentDevelopmentalTest and Evaluation (DT&E) of space programs

  • Knowledgeable ofSpace Control programsand/or Orbital Warfare concept of operations

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment foster effective relationships and be responsive to management/customer requests

  • Proven experience with the development integration or operation of DoD and/or IC space and/or ground systems

  • Experienceleveragingthe breadth and depth of Aerospace ETG technical capabilities and resources

  • Current SAP/SAR access

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge and skills.
