Job Summary
Contract # of Days: 215
We are seeking a passionate and talented High School Band Director to oversee our high school band program.
This includes teaching students about various musical techniques conducting rehearsals and preparing the band for performances and competitions.
The High School Band Director should have a deep understanding of music theory significant experience in conducting and a genuine interest in helping students develop their musical abilities.
Ultimately the Band Directors goal is to foster a supportive and challenging environment that encourages the love of music and continuous improvement of students musical talents.
Responsibilities
- Plan organize and conduct practice sessions for the high school band
- Prepare the band for various performances parades and competitions
- Teach music theory and various instrumental techniques
- Audit and maintain inventory of all band-related equipment and instruments
- Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Communicate effectively with parents school administration and community members
- Assist with fundraising activities for the band program
- Organize band trips and other related activities
- Recruit and mentor new band members
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Music Education or a related field
- Previous experience as a Band Director or in a similar role
- Knowledge of music theory and a wide range of musical styles
- Experience conducting and preparing ensembles for performances
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and mentor students
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
