Temporary Apprentice Power Lineman
Join our team at East River Electric Power Cooperative! We are seeking a temporary Apprentice Power Lineman to join our transmission line construction this role you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working directly with experienced team members on various transmission line installation and maintenance projects. This position involves extensive out-of-town travel and is eligible to work up to 1000 hours.
What Youll Accomplish
- Assist in the installation repair and maintenance of transmission lines at heights up to 100 feet.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools used in power line construction and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with experienced linemen to learn techniques and best practices for power line work.
- Travel with the transmission construction crew to various work site locations in eastern SD and western MN.
- Participate in safety meetings and comply with all safety procedures.
Showcase Your Knowledge Abilities and Expertise. Do you have
- A degree/certificate for a power line technical program
- A Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
- Experience with mobile technology and Microsoft Office products
- The ability work outdoors with considerable physical exertion occasionally in adverse weather conditions
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks in a team environment
Position Details
- Hourly pay rate is $27.00
- Paid work-related travel expenses
- PPE gear provided
- Summer work schedule is a 4/10 work week with 10-hour days M-Th and every Friday off
- Desired start date is April or May but will depend on candidate availability
