About the role:
We are seeking an exceptional Staff Data Scientist to join our Garner Health Intelligence team to help build and evolve our provider data insights. Youll work with our clinical researchers data scientists and data engineers to improve the rules and models we use to evaluate provider performance. Your work will directly impact our member recommendations and provider-facing data products.
You will also be a technical leader raising the bar for how we conduct analysis build models and deploy data science code by improving standards and mentoring team members.
Where you will work:
This role will be based in our New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday.
What you will do:
- Partner with product managers and clinical experts to lead projects shaping how we define and measure provider cost and quality
- Drive the evolution and construction of tools we use to write assess and combine rules measuring provider behaviors
- Build and maintain data-driven algorithms including AI and machine learning models to improve our provider recommendations estimates
- Serve as a subject matter expert for statistical modeling improving methods for evaluating current models and future changes
- Partner with data engineers to design scalable data pipelines that ingest clean and enrich healthcare provider data
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product engineering research and operations teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
- Define data science standards and best practices and mentor team members to raise the technical capabilities of the data science team
The ideal candidate has:
- 8 years professional experience in data science product analytics and/or healthcare
- A demonstrated ability to independently solve difficult problems and deliver high quality results to senior stakeholders
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Expertise in statistical modeling techniques and a track record of building impactful predictive models
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
- Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment.

Compensation Transparency:
The target salary range for this position is $263000 - $300000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors including qualifications skills and applicable addition to base compensation this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans including but not limited to: flexible PTO Medical/Dental/Vision plan options 401(k) Teladoc Health and more.
