Performs responsible technical administrative and supervisory work involving Water Reclamation Facility operations. Responsible for 24-hour/day operation and ensuring that the treatment plant produces the highest quality products in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Considerable initiative and independent judgment are required to ensure continuous effective efficient and safe wastewater treatment. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Treatment Plant Manager and reviewed through conferences reports submitted and results Qualifications:Bachelors Degree and at least two (2) years of experience operating a wastewater treatment plant similar in process and size to the City of Orlandos facilities some of which must have been in a supervisory/managerial capacity; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required. Current State of Florida Wastewater Operator A Certificate for wastewater treatment required. Must possess a cell phone or home phone or be able to be contacted in case of an emergency work situation. Some positions may be required to pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face plate.Important: To be eligible to proceed forward in the application process applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed in the position description. If this posting indicates a degree is required the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a masters degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
