What Youll Do
- Underwrite complex risks for new business renewals and ad-hoc cases.
- Identify reinsurance needs and implement effective solutions.
- Provide accurate high-level technical feedback.
- Negotiate with internal and external clients to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across multiple levels of the organization.
Desired Experience & Qualification
What Were Looking For
- 5 years experience in short-term commercial insurance underwriting. Preference would be given to those candidates with experience in Santam Commercial Underwriting.
- Grade 12 and FAIS compliance (120 credits on NQF Level 5 Commercial Lines & Personal Lines).
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Completed Santam Commercial & Personal product training (SMKs).
- Accredited NQF Short-term insurance qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of short-term insurance and risk assessment.
- Familiarity with contact centre processes SLAs and commercial quoting tools.

- Commercially astute with strategic thinking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
