About the role:

TheDirectorBusiness Portfolio Managementunderstands lean process management how organizational strategy drives team-level outcomesobjectiveand key results framework and Agile portfoliomanagement and governance. This roleis responsible forsupporting theAVP Business Portfolio Management in aligning their priorities to the organizational strategies and committed work. Thisrole understands theteamcapabilities helps with prioritization of work and Director Business PortfolioManagementis responsible forthe leadership management and development ofPortfolio Managers &Analysts supportingthe BPM Team.

What will you do

  • Drives Portfolio and BU level reporting on initiative health and block funding requirements/planning
  • Partners and collaborates with Leadership and Key Stakeholders to develop annual Key Initiative plan inputs and ongoing financial view
  • Partner with Business Leaders and Journey Platform ownersto maintain and update portfolioroadmaps prioritize deliverables andmanage backlogs
  • Create and deliver stakeholdercommunications for ongoing prioritiesincluding status updates roadmapdependencies pressure points and keydecisions requiring alignment
  • Lead and drive the intake and assessment of new ideas to the BPM funnel guiding and supporting the Prep Group in analysis and decision making
  • Support theAVP Business PortfolioManagement with events and ceremonies(e.g. bi-weekly Portfolio and Platformreviews Execution Group)
  • Leads a team of Portfolio Manager/Analysts responsible for Portfolio financial analysis and portfolio administration activities

What do you need to succeed

  • 3 to 5 years of portfolio management experience at the management level
  • Experience in digital and large company transformations
  • Experience in scaled agile environmentswith multi-layer operating models
  • History of process ownership continual process improvement and lean process design
  • Portfolio level financial management and reporting
  • Enterprise initiative reporting
  • Experience in applying OKRs as drivers of work prioritization within a portfolio backlog
  • Experience in process design/evolution
  • Strong analytical planning and organization skills combined with strong business sense
  • Ability to lead and manage work streams and multiple projects concurrently
  • The ability to effectively influence people to all levels in a fast-moving environment
  • Able tobuild a sense of trust and rapportthat creates a comfortable & effective workplace
  • Outcome-focusedand result-driven

Preferred Skills:

  • PMI-ACP or equivalent
  • Believes in anon-hierarchicalculture of collaborationtransparency and trust
  • Brings ahigh-energy and passionate outlook to the joband can influence those around them
  • Experienced in or excited to learnAgile way of working

As this position is posted in several locations we specify that bilingualism (French English both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
