Position Description:
LOCATION: VANCOUVER BC
This role is part of a large multi-year enterprise implementation focused on establishing a unified high-confidence approach to identity resolution and advanced search across core data platforms. The program is introducing new clustering survivorship and search capabilities to replace fragmented legacy approaches enabling accurate matching reconciliation and discovery of customer and organizational records at scale. These capabilities are foundational to data quality operational efficiency and downstream system reliability.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
The Senior Data Scientist implements clustering logic survivorship workflows and advanced search services that must perform reliably under high volume and complex matching scenarios. The services built in this stream are consumed by multiple teams and systems making correctness performance and maintainability critical. While initially assigned to this flagship implementation the clustering algorithms search services and engineering patterns delivered by this role are intended to become reusable assets across future transformation initiatives positioning the Senior Data Scientist as a key contributor to long-term identity and search capabilities within the consulting practice.
. Implement clustering and survivorship logic in Python
. Build and optimize advanced search services using OpenSearch
. Design indexing strategies and query optimization routines
. Develop supporting APIs for identity and search services
. Harden services for performance scalability and accuracy
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
. 8 years in senior backend engineering roles
. Strong Python and distributed systems experience
. Expertise with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch on AWS
. Experience designing high-performance search services
. Exposure to Azure and GCP integration patterns ideal
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85000 - $160000.
