Construction Solicitor

Salary:(DOE) Bonus

Location: Preston (other locations available) (Hybrid Working Supported)

Experience: 3 years PQE (Construction Law)

Are you ready to join a market-leading award-winning law firm with a people-focused culture and a reputation for excellence Our clients Construction Team in Preston is seeking a talented Solicitor (Associate/Senior Associate) with proven construction law experience to manage a varied caseload and play a key role in the teams growth and development.

The Opportunity

  • Manage a busy caseload of construction matters both contentious and non-contentious with immediate responsibility for existing work

  • Advise clients across the construction industry including contractors developers architects engineers local councils and homeowners

  • Draft review and negotiate construction documentation (contracts professional appointments collateral warranties bonds guarantees etc.)

  • Advise on JCT NEC IChemE and FIDIC contracts as well as procurement and risk management

  • Handle disputes: breach of contract delay & disruption loss & expense adjudication arbitration and litigation in the Technology & Construction Court

  • Collaborate with colleagues across service lines (commercial property corporate commercial)

  • Support supervise and develop junior team members

  • Contribute to business development knowledge sharing and team objectives

  • Write blogs/LinkedIn posts and participate in client training or seminars (optional)

What Were Looking For

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years PQE in construction law

  • Experience managing own caseload with minimal supervision

  • Strong technical expertise in both contentious and non-contentious construction matters (desirable)

  • Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts (desirable)

  • Excellent attention to detail organisation and communication skills

  • Commercially aware proactive and confident in client-facing situations

  • Proven business development ability and track record of building networks

  • Ability to collaborate and support team development
