The Watson Chapel School District (WCSD) is seeking highly qualified and visionary applicantsfor the position of Secondary Principal. The Elementary Principal serves as the ChiefInstructional Leader of the assigned school and is responsible for ensuring high levels of studentachievement through effective leadership of curriculum instruction assessment school cultureand operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence instructionalinnovation equity and continuous improvement while fostering a safe supportive and engaginglearning environment for all students and staff. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSInstructional Leadership (Primary Responsibility) Serves as the Chief Instructional Leader of the building with primary responsibility for improving teaching and learning in every the implementation of a guaranteed and viable curriculum aligned to the Arkansas Academic the development implementation monitoring and evaluation of curriculum instruction and assessment the transition and implementation of a district-aligned digital/online curriculum platform to personalize and enhance student multiple data sources (formative summative diagnostic and behavioral data) to guide instructional decisions and improve student with integrity of the school becoming a Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and collaborative practices focused and aligned to student regular classroom observations and provides actionable feedback coaching and support to instructional intervention systems (RTI/MTSS) to address academic and behavioral needs of all with the Superintendent Assistant Superintendent and Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction to implement system-wide instructional other duties as assigned by the Culture Climate and Student Support Establishes and sustains a positive inclusive and academically focused school student discipline in a fair consistent and restorative student attendance behavior and student supervision during the school day and at school-sponsored compliance with state and federal student support requirements including FINS petitions and court proceedings as student registration scheduling and academic placement processesPersonnel Leadership and Professional Growth Supervises supports and evaluates certified and classified staff in accordance with district policies and state literacy and math instructional facilitators in collaboration with the Executive Director of Curriculum and professional learning aligned to instructional priorities student needs and district in recruitment interviewing reference checks and hiring a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement among Safety and Compliance Assists in the development of the master schedule and oversees building-level scheduling campus safety and security in collaboration with district leadership and law enforcement with supervision of state and federal programs at the building in district-level budget planning and monitors building and approves purchase requests and maintains appropriate records and compliance with district policies Arkansas Department of Education regulations and applicable and manages building-level operational materials and and Community Engagement Communicates effectively with students parents staff and community questions and concerns related to curriculum instruction and school the school at district meetings community events and extracurricular strong partnerships with families to support student Duties Oversees extracurricular other duties as assigned by the Systems thinking and organizational management and strategic of research-based instructional practices and curriculum analysis and continuous improvement of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) leadership and adherence to professional written verbal and presentation skills. Ability to evaluate programs and implement improvement LICENSES Masters degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Educational Administration Supervision or Curriculum and of three (3) years of successful teaching or related experience Arkansas Building-Level Administrator drivers license and reliable transportation ability to lead instructional improvement and supervise REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of current trends and research in school leadership data analysis professional development delivery models eliminating academic and behavioral achievement writing editing and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently prioritize work and complete work in a timely and accurate mannerAbility to deal effectively with students teachers administrators support staff central office staff parents and the communityDemonstrates strong leadership and management qualities and the ability to set priorities and supervise the work of SKILLSProficient with learning management systems (LMS) student information systems (SIS) and digital curriculum using instructional data dashboards and assessment knowledge of Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365 to leverage technology to support instruction communication and SOLVING and SYSTEM THINKING Understands how district systems interact to achieve strategic informed decisions using data research and mission-critical issues and aligns people time and resources innovative solutions to complex instructional and organizational DEMANDSThe physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform essential job functions.
