Purpose:The Director Regulatory Policy is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and advancing the companys regulatory policy agenda across global and regional platforms. This role drives proactive engagement with health authorities trade associations and internal stakeholders to influence regulatory frameworks that support innovation patient access and business objectives.

You will be responsible for:

Regulatory Insights

  • Lead the assessment and synthesis of Latin America regulatory intelligence identifying emerging trends legislative changes and strategic opportunities including crisis management and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure targeted dissemination of insights to internal stakeholders enhancing regulatory strategy and decision-making.
  • Translate complex regulatory developments into actionable guidance for regional and global teams.

Regulatory Policy Development

  • Develop and execute effective approaches to Latin America regulatory policy initiatives.
  • Actively participate in regulatory commenting system driving aligned internal perspectives and coordinating company responses to draft regulations and guidance as appropriate.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and implement influencing strategies that shape the future healthcare environment including the development of appropriate mechanisms for achieving internal alignment.
  • Provide strategic input to global working groups and policy platforms integrating regional perspectives.

External Representation & Advocacy

  • Represent the company and provide strategic leadership (e.g. agenda setting) in regional and global trade associations professional organizations and regulatory policy forums.
  • Engage directly with health authorities and government bodies to advocate for science-based innovation-friendly regulatory policies.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with external stakeholders to advance the companys policy positions.

Strategic Engagement & Leadership

  • Serve as a visible and credible regulatory policy leader both internally and externally.
  • Partner with Legal Government Affairs Research & Development and Commercial teams to ensure policy alignment and strategic integration.
  • Mentor and guide junior policy staff fostering a culture of regulatory excellence and proactive engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelors degree. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience Required: At least 10 years of experience. Regulatory policy government affairs or regulatory strategy experience. Demonstrated success in influencing regulatory environments and shaping policy outcomes. Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience Preferred: Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector. Experience engaging with health authorities in Latin America. Understanding of global regulatory systems and healthcare policy landscapes. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for emerging technologies (e.g. cell & gene therapy digital health AI in medicine)
  • Languages: Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred.
  • Travel: This position may require up to 10% of travel.
