Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
  • Assist in the day to day operations of the Food & Beverage Division ensuring all service standards and LQA are followed
  • Execute the delivery of all Food & Beverage promotions and new menus; creating a destination of choice for both hotel and external guests
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective planning budgeting purchasing decisions policy making and inventory control while focusing on creative cost control and revenue generation solutions to maximize profit in the division and hotel.
  • The ability to be visible in the operation recognize and maintain relationships with regular guests as well as cultivate relationships with new patrons through effective marketing and personal relationships.
  • The ability to work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage the Restaurant General Managers as well as the Executive Chef to design effective menus wine lists and amenity options while ensuring excellent product quality.
  • Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Maintain create and implement a budget based on forecast demand occupancy and historical data in order to achieve year over year gain.
  • Strategic planning and execution of short-and long-range capital expenditures to enhance guest and employee experience.
  • Participate in the development of the team through personalized monitoring of each member of his or her team and by proposing training actions to improve individual performance.
  • Communicate with all Departments of the hotel on business fluctuations and developments special guests and groups.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Contribute to the development of the hotels annual marketing plan
  • To be an ambassador of the Fairmont Chateau Laurier philosophy and ensure that it is understood and respected by all.

Qualifications :

  • Previous Food & Beverage experience in a senior leadership role required
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
