Red Cross Transport supports people who are older or have a disability and who have no means of getting to non-urgent medical appointments or social outings. Volunteers provide a door-to-door transport service helping clients strengthen their capacity to participate in community life maintain or regain independence and stay living in their own home for opportunityFor this role you will need good conversational skills and the ability to relate to and empathise with a broad range of people including those with different lived experiences abilities and will be comfortable using computers. You will be required to integrate theory and practice in the areas of casework client services program planning and development family welfare and support work advocacy and support work community development work community work/social welfare Cross will ensure you have training ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the worlds largest humanitarian impactAs a student in a student placement you will help vulnerable older people to feel safe and improve their social connection by listening empathising and providing them with a friendly voice.
