The Virtual Access Specialist acts as a non-clinical virtual resource that is available to educate and address Health Care Provider (HCP) questions about patient access. This is a remote role that calls directly on HCP offices in the assigned specific geography to address questions about patient access & reimbursement in support of AbbVies prescription-based psychiatry portfolio. Provides expertise on coverage and reimbursement barriers to better enhance the patient experience and effectively navigate the complexities of the local healthcare landscape and overcome access barriers. Responsibilities include educating HCPs about access and reimbursement via AbbVie approved support tools advising HCPs on patient prescription status program eligibility and educating offices on payer processes and procedures.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Educate HCPs on patient support programs including approved access and reimbursement through AbbVie support tools and services.
- Be a subject matter expert on relevant local regional and national payer policies to appropriately educate providers on payer requirements.
- Develop and sustain relationships with relevant providers within the territory. Utilize strong communication skills to facilitate clear concise and efficient information exchanges with Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) HCPs and other stakeholders.
- Effectively work in a high cross-matrix environment implementing appropriate ways of working communication with teams in sales market access patient service peers to update HCPs on Rx status and program eligibility.
- Demonstrate agility to effectively incorporate the use of approved resources and data to appropriately support HCP education initiatives that enhance the patients experience.
- Identify and report back payer trends related for approved products to Patient Services and market access account management teams.
- Take ownership of process improvement initiatives continuously seeking ways to enhance system efficiency and patient access strategies.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree or Associate degree in fields such as biological sciences pharmacy business related field or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in account management payer account management and/or access and reimbursement.
- Thorough understanding of payer policy processes published criteria and documentation for coverage coding prior authorization and appeal processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of the rules regulations and risks associated with provision of reimbursement support services.
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial and governmental payer access dynamics
- Strong communicator with proven ability to navigate cross-matrix environments ensuring clear concise and timely information exchange between internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment.
- Utilize critical thinking to assess and prioritize workloads at the account level ensuring optimal resource allocation and seamless operations.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
