COMPENSATION: $800 - $900 per week (less applicable tax withholdings)
Jacobs Pillow provides housing three meals a day studio usage and free access to
classes performances and talks.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Jacobs Pillow seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Seasonal Marketing Coordinator to support the Marketing department in the successful execution of its initiatives during the summer Festival. This role emphasizes collaboration organization and creativity with responsibilities spanning print materials digital content paid media and on-site event support. The coordinator will play a key role in ensuring smooth departmental operations while contributing to audience engagement and visitor experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Content Capture and Asset Management:
Capture on-the-ground social media content during the festival including photos videos interviews and livestreams as assigned by Social Media Manager and/or Director of Marketing
Organize and disseminate artist assets for timely use across departments and platforms.
Please note: this responsibility is intended to supplement the work being done by the professional onsite photography and videography teams and does not require the use of professional photography and videography equipment other than a smartphone gimbal and lavalier microphones all provided by Jacobs Pillow.
Administrative & Digital Support:
Assist Director of Marketing with management of paid social digital and integrated media campaigns
Liaise with digital marketing agency of record Capacity Interactive
Track and file invoices for Director of Marketing
Content Creation:
Collaborate on blog posts and digital content that highlight performances and events.
Collaborate on updates to the Jacobs Pillow website with program and event information.
Assist in drafting and proofreading email campaigns and other promotional content.
Brainstorm and pitch new ideas for digital campaigns that align with Festival themes.
Support livestream productions by managing online audience engagement.
Print and Creative Management:
Event Support:
Staff special events as needed providing in-person support for activities such as tabling efforts and promotional campaigns.
Coordinate marketing visibility activation and promotion across Jacobs Pillow campus.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Eye for basic photography and videography and ability to brainstorm pitch and execute content ideas for social media.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in team settings.
Commitment to supporting an equitable and respectful work environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with alternative professional experiences and qualifications equivalent to those listed below are encouraged to apply.
Previous experience in marketing arts organizations or nonprofits.
Familiarity with social media content creation and digital marketing tools.
Experience with photography and videography basics using smartphones or similar devices.
Proficiency in Canva
Familiarity with Asana or other project management software.
Fluency in Google Workspace (Sheets Docs etc)
Previous experience with website content management systems such as Wagtail or WordPress.
Passion for dance and the performing arts.
A valid U.S. drivers license is beneficial to this role but not mandatory.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Office setting: prolonged periods of stationary work and movement within the office space. Please note that the office space for this position is located on the second floor of a building with no elevator.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Six-day workweeks during the festival.
Outdoor work including exposure to varied weather conditions.
Frequent interruptions and dynamic team interactions.
Physical tasks such as moving event supplies and materials.
