These positions are critical to maintaining facility security and ensuring proper emergency response protocols are followed. This role requires individuals who can maintain vigilance demonstrate sound judgment and respond effectively to various security personnel will work in 12-hour rotations with a 15-minute overlap to ensure proper turnover between shifts. No security employee will remain on duty longer than 13 hours at a time and will have a minimum of 10 hours between shifts. Staff must be in uniform and recognizable as guards. Guards must wear KABS approved uniforms with company livery on it at all times when on government Functions Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:The Unarmed Security Guards/Entry Control Specialist will serve as important members of the KABS team providing 24/5 security guard and response capabilities. Core responsibilities include:Staff the IHS center for the facility on a 24/5 basis through 12 hour rotating shiftsMonitor all life safety and security systems including alarms access control and CCTV camerasProvide notification of incidents to emergency first responders and authorized IHS staffStaff access control points and reception desks to manage facility entryRespond promptly to fire security and maintenance alarmsConduct interior patrols of the building and monitor exterior areas including parking facilities via CCTVPerform exterior patrols when CCTV coverage is inadequate or inoperableControl personnel access and manage visitor protocols including operation of fixed and/or portable barriersDispatch security personnel as required to address security concernsMaintain detailed security logs and documentation of incidentsAdminister and maintain security databasesPerform other administrative duties within the security office as assignedEducation and Experience:Required:Must be physically capable of performing security duties which include doing walking rounds of the hospital of CLEET training requiredMust be able to take direction and be on time for shift unarmed security experience staffing/operating access pointsExperience with electronic security systems and CCTV monitoringExperience with access control management and visitor processingTraining in emergency response proceduresHigh-School graduateRequired Skills and Competencies:Ability to learn and demonstrate thorough understanding of IHS Security Standard Operating ProceduresCapability to pass written/oral exams on security procedures within 15 business days of contract startStrong attention to detail and vigilance in monitoring multiple security systems simultaneouslyExcellent communication skills for coordinating with emergency responders and security staffAbility to maintain composure and make sound decisions during emergency situationsCapability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights and holidaysAbility to maintain accurate security logs and documentationProficiency in managing visitor control systemsKnowledge of security alarm systems and response protocolsDesired Skills and Competencies:Prior military law enforcement or federal security experienceKnowledge of federal security protocols and proceduresPrior experience in a government security operations centerFamiliarity with integrated electronic intrusion detection systemsExperience with access control in sensitive environmentsSecurity Requirement:Must be able to pass a criminal background check and ability to obtain a Public TrustOur Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
