This includes financial statement preparation quarterly Board reporting preparing for financial statement audits transfer pricing and intercompany transactions general ledger maintenance and reconciliations. This position would play a lead role in budget and forecast preparation be involved in various new and ongoing projects and recommend addition this role will assist in the preparation and review of the financial statements when YOULL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReporting:Creation of monthly reports including cash flow statements income statements and balance sheetsDevelopment and documentation of processes and procedures ensuring financial controls are in place for the organizationInvolvement in preparing presentations to the Board Meeting Conduct variance analysis and participation in valuation exercises for the subsidiariesAccomplishes finance and organizational mission by completing related results as neededFinancial Accounting and Analysis:Produce monthly consolidated income statement and balance and analyze financials statements Produce various reconciliations Lead the interim and year-end audits (i.e. preparation of financial statements and working papers) and liaise with the external financial statement Auditor Leadership:Become the key liaison between the business and the Finance department and ensuring monthly quarterly and annual books are closed in a timely mannerCoach and mentor Financial Accountants/Finance clerks as requiredAssist the Finance Manager with risk mitigation cross-training and developmentAssist with ad-hoc projects as required by ManagementWHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEDegree or diploma in business finance accounting or a related field Working towards a CPA designation required 2 years of full cycle financial accounting experienceExperience with Epicor or similar ERP systemU.S. taxation experience is an assetTechnical knowledge in Financial Accounting StandardsKnowledge of e-commerce banking applications e.g. AR/AP linkGeneral knowledge of GST/HST/QST tax rulesExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines Team player with strong interpersonal team-building and coaching skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAble to work with all levels of managementKnowledge of transfer pricing and Canadian ASPE (would be an asset)Knowledge of royalty payments and/or music industry (would be an asset)Strong software application skills advanced MS Excel MS Access andBusiness Intelligence tools (e.g. Microstrategy EPM)ACCESSIBILITY & ACCOMMODATIONSOCAN is committed to providing an inclusive workplace environment that meets the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities.
