Job Summary

The Maryland State Golf Association is looking for talented and well-rounded applicants with experience in sports and/or communications to fulfill a 2026 USGA P.J. Boatwright Communications media and press related needs including event program tournament recaps press releases etc. Interview player and write championship summaries during the tournament season (approximately 25 events)Help manage and maintain website content on other featured content for regarding golf in Maryland/DC or golfers from Maryland/DC competing in notable or national events (USGA Championships)Assist in management and content creation for MSGA social media accounts (Facebook X Instagram)Support the efforts of all MSGA Staff Members as neededRequirementsExcellent communication content creation and public relation skillsPreferred area of study or background in journalism communications public relations or sport managementExcellent motivations organization communication and work qualityOutstanding writing and editing skills with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesWillingness to travel and ability to work long hoursExperience with Microsoft Office requiredExperience with graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) WordPress websites social media managementPhotography/videography experience is preferredGolf knowledge and/or background is preferredWillingness to work early mornings and occasional late eveningsIntern must attend orientation (funded by the USGA) in Liberty Corner NJ or virtuallyAbility to lift up to 40 poundsMSGA apparel will be providedAbility to work from MSGA HQ in Lutherville-Timonium MDPosition: 2026 USGA P.J.
