About The Opportunity

In this role you will work closely with library customers and staff to enhance digital literacy and provide technical support. You will design and deliver engaging technology-based programs and workshops for people of all ages while also assisting individuals one-on-one with their digital needs. The position involves maintaining and troubleshooting library technologies including hardware software and systems and collaborating with Council IT teams external vendors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. You will also contribute to the librarys online presence by supporting website maintenance and creating content for social media. This is a hands-on role that combines technical expertise with strong communication skills to help bridge the digital divide in our community.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

  • Minimum diploma qualification in Information Technology or similar OR at least two years experience supporting technology use for the public.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with current technologies including:
    • Microsoft Suite
    • Generative AI
    • 3D printing coding gaming robotics
    • Social media and website maintenance
    • Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills to explain technology concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • A customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • Valid Queensland C class drivers licence and own transport.
