Senior Accountant at Canterbury Consulting
Are you an intellectually curious driven accountant with a passion for tackling intricatechallenges We are seeking a highly competent Senior Accountant to join our team. This role offers significant autonomy and exposure to all department functions. Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:
This position requires a high level of autonomy intellectual curiosity and attention to detail. The Senior Accountant will be an active and essential contributor to our financial operations ensuring accuracy and compliance across all functions.
Financial Close & Complex Accounting
Financial Close Ownership: Lead the execution and review of the monthly and annual financial close processes ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Complex General Ledger & Reconciliations: Own and perform elaborate balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations including those related to intercompany transactions (11 subsidiaries) foreign currency and stock-related transactions for our employee-owned company.
Internal Control & Quality Review: Review audit approve and correct the work initiated by others across various accounting functions serving as a primary check for quality control and compliance.
Operational & Specialized Tasks
Client Billing: Participate in the client billing process working cross-functionally to ensure data integrity and managing the accuracy of underlying client information.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee critical daily functions by reviewing and completing both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) duties.
Payroll & Expense Management: Review and process payroll for all employees and manage employee expense report processing.
Reporting & Compliance Support
Audit & Tax Preparation: Play a key role in preparing schedules documentation and analyses to support the annual external audit and tax return preparation.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
Problem Solving & Improvement: Actively identify analyze and resolve unique and difficult accounting problems recommending and implementing improvements to processes internal controls and documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
To meet the high standards of this position and thrive in our demanding environment candidates must demonstrate proven expertise and a commitment to excellence.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive hands-on General Ledger (GL) accounting experience required within the industry is a plus. Experience must include the ability to independently own the full month-end close cycle and resolve complex accounting issues.
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables VLOOKUPs) and strong working knowledge of accounting software/ERP systems Netsuite is a plus.
Competencies: Must possess exceptional analytical skills strong attention to detail and a verifiable track record of high achievement and commitment to continuous growth.
Strong work ethic attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting at $85000 - $90000 with a clearly defined promotional track to $95000 within the first 12-18 months based on performance.

Physical Requirements
Musculoskeletal Endurance: Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.

Mobility: Occasionally move objects up to 25 pounds.
