API Automation Tester

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled API Automation Tester with hands-on experience in API testing automation frameworks scripting and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will design develop and execute automated API tests while working closely with cross-functional teams in a Scaled Agile environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Design develop and maintain API automation frameworks using Rest Assured.
Create execute and validate API test cases using Postman for functional integration and regression testing.
Develop reusable scripts and utilities using Python to support automation data preparation and validation tasks.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.
Analyze requirements identify test scenarios and ensure full coverage of API flows.
Participate in Scaled Agile (SAFe) ceremonies including sprint planning grooming daily standups and retrospectives.
Identify document and track defects; collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure timely resolution.
Provide clear testing dashboards reports and status updates to stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to QA standards and contribute to process improvements.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

5 years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on API automation.
Hands-on experience with:
oRest Assured (mandatory)
oPostman (collections environments scripting)
Solid scripting knowledge with Python for automation tasks.
Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins Azure DevOps GitHub Actions).
Strong understanding of Scaled Agile (SAFe) delivery models.
Knowledge of API architecture REST principles JSON and microservices testing.
Excellent problem solving analytical and communication skills.
Experience working in enterprise or financial services environments is an asset.

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65000$115000. This role is an existing vacancy.**
