Compensation Details

  • The starting hourly rate for this position is between $35.00 and $44.00 based on your prior work experience.
  • When you work on a Contour observed holiday you are eligible to receive holiday pay which is paid at 2 times your hourly rate. Specific information regarding Contours observed holiday policy is outlined in our Employee Handbook which will be provided to you during the onboarding process should you be selected for employment.
  • When you work in excess of 40 hours within the pay period you are eligible for overtime which is paid at 1.5 times your hourly rate.

Summary of Essential Duties

The Aircraft Accessories Crew Chief oversees the daily operations of the aircraft accessory repair and overhaul shop. This position ensures all work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations Repair Station procedures and customer requirements while managing personnel workflow quality and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform daily scheduled tasks including but not limited to teardown cleaning inspection painting reassembly and leak testing of aircraft wheel assemblies; battery testing charging and overhauls; tool calibration; and other repairs assigned by maintenance leadership
  • Plan prioritize and balance workload to meet production schedules and customer turnaround time (TAT) requirements
  • Supervise and lead technicians and inspectors; assign work monitor productivity and ensure proper training and qualification of personnel
  • Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on aircraft components as required
  • Ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145 manufacturers approved technical data (CMMs) and applicable safety regulations
  • Ensure compliance with safe work practices environmental requirements and proper housekeeping standards
  • Train and assist subordinate personnel in proper work procedures techniques and best practices
  • Assist in maintaining repair station facilities in a clean safe and orderly condition
  • Ensure all shop tools equipment and test apparatus are maintained in a serviceable and calibrated condition
  • Ensure all required repair station forms records and documentation are properly completed and controlled
  • Initiate purchase requisitions for aircraft parts and materials necessary to complete assigned work
  • Ensure personnel under supervision consistently perform quality work in accordance with approved data and company standards
  • Ensure proper handling identification and preservation of articles and parts during maintenance installation and storage
  • Oversee work performed by personnel unfamiliar with specific methods techniques practices tools or equipment used in maintenance preventive maintenance or alterations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand bend kneel and work in confined spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to climb stairs scaffolding and ladders of varying heights without assistance
  • Tolerance to noise vibration and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves safety glasses and hearing protection
  • Visual acuity sufficient to perform detailed inspections

Work Environment

  • FAA Part 145 repair station / shop environment
  • Exposure to aircraft components tools solvents and test equipment
  • Regular exposure to noise and vibration
  • Fast-paced operational setting requiring strong attention to safety accuracy and timeliness
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on workload demands


Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate or sufficient experience to qualify for an FAA Repairman Certificate.
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the country without restrictions.
  • Possess a valid drivers license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to read write speak and understand English fluently; proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED certification preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including Office 365 Excel Outlook and Word; familiarity with similar software applications is also required.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive customer-focused attitude.
  • Strong leadership organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a variety of personalities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Skilled in coordinating multiple priorities managing deadlines and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle interruptions and changing priorities with flexibility and a strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivatedwith the ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills delivered with professionalism and tact.
  • Must pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screening and be willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company-mandated random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to pass a 10-year work history background check as well as criminal history and fingerprint checks as required by the TSA.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings evenings weekends holidays and irregular shifts as operational needs dictate.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and work in a professional manner complying with OSHA EPA state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Prior airline experience preferred.
