The role

As a Programme Manager youll provide leadership strategic oversight and operational discipline to deliver complex rail frameworks and projects safely efficiently and profitably. This is a senior leadership role where your decisions will directly protect revenue enhance margins and strengthen Babcocks reputation as a trusted delivery partner. Youll have the opportunity to shape performance drive innovation and make a tangible impact on national infrastructure.

Day-to-day youll be required to:

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary project management team to deliver frameworks and contracts safely and efficiently
  • Oversee programme-level planning including resource allocation risk management and change control
  • Maintain strong client relationships and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all SQE legal and accreditation requirements
  • Provide programme-level reporting across commercial financial and delivery performance.

This role is full time working 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home. Occasional travel to other Babcock and customer sites may be required

Essential experience of the Programme Manager:

  • Extensive managerial experience at a senior level within a rail project delivery environment within a rail project delivery environment.
  • Strong knowledge of processes operational and associated safety matters.

Qualifications for the Programme Manager:

Member of a relevant professional body (e.g. Association for Project Management) with chartered status and/or degree-level education.
