Substance Use Treatment & AOD Counselor
Hourly Rate: $30.00-35.00
Position Summary
The Substance Use Treatment & AOD Counselor is responsible for providing families with the appropriate substance treatment services including assessments treatment plans and individual and/or group treatments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Substance Use Treatment & AOD Counselor will perform duties including but not limited to:
Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Programs mission values and philosophies.
Observe urine collection for substance use screens as per the treatment plan for same gender clients.
Provide family interventions in support of client success.
Responsible for submitting all required paperwork to include accurate billing forms time sheets and case notes.
Attend all assigned agency training programs and agency-sponsored events.
Serve as the local community liaison to link clients with appropriate services.
Advocate on behalf of the families toward the goal of successful reunification and/or the prevention of out of home
placement of children living in the home while holding clients accountable for treatment compliance and sobriety.
Assist and support excellent in public relations with the referring agency court systems and system partners.
Work collaboratively with the NYAP treatment team.
Complete all required paperwork as per agency policies and procedures.
Be available for on-call duties.
Maintain productivity standards and participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related Human Service field; Masters Degree is preferred.
Experience in serving individuals with substance use treatment needs.
Must have valid Substance Use Treatment Credentials as required by the state and/or regulatory agencies.
Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers smart phones and tablets printers fax machines and photocopiers as well
as software including word processing spreadsheet and database programs.
OTHER SKILLS Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must demonstrate a sincere commitment and ability to advocate for the youth and families.
Openness to travel as needed.
Openness to work flexible hours as needed.
