Working 36.5 hours per week

Job Purpose

To provide senior technical expertise across End User Computing (EUC) acting as an escalation point for complex incidents and ensuring end-user technology services are reliable secure and aligned to organisational needs. The role focuses on improving user experience strengthening service resilience and supporting the delivery of EUC change and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-site and remote support activity acting as the senior technical authority for complex issues affecting devices applications and user services.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to the team supporting development capability building and consistent ways of working.
  • Own the resolution of major incidents including root cause analysis and ensuring learning is embedded into future practice.
  • Contribute expert input to change project and governance forums ensuring that risks impacts and dependencies are understood.
  • Develop and maintain effective knowledge documentation and standards to support consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Support the planning and delivery of EUC initiatives and projects contributing to the management of risks issues and dependencies.
  • Coordinate the introduction of new tools technologies and services ensuring changes are controlled and minimise disruption.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to resolve complex issues and improve overall service delivery.
  • Oversee asset inventory and equipment lifecycle management to ensure effective control and compliance.
  • Manage financial administration related to supplier recharges and warranty recoveries.
  • Act as a role model for organisational values contributing to a positive inclusive and high-performing culture.

Knowledge Skills and Experience

Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation (or equivalent practical experience).

Experience

  • Experience leading or managing a multi-skilled customer-facing technical support team.
  • Experience supporting high-pressure live services including incidents changes and operational priorities.
  • Experience producing clear management information and communicating effectively with different audiences.
  • Experience identifying implementing and documenting service improvements.
  • Experience working with suppliers contractors and senior internal stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to work autonomously and solve complex problems with structured documented approaches.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and influencing skills including the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
  • Ability to coach mentor and develop others.
  • Strong stakeholder focus with the ability to balance service needs and user expectations.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of end-user technologies and how they impact the user experience.
  • Good understanding of device application and service lifecycles.
  • Understanding of EUC services within a local government (or similarly complex) environment including relevant standards and compliance considerations.

Education & Professionalism

  • Good general education with relevant professional experience.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrates professionalism integrity and accountability in approach and conduct.
