We are currently hiring a Chief II Gastrointestinal Physiologist for a leading Hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
Perform interpret and report specialised gastrointestinal physiology investigations including high-resolution oesophageal manometry 24-hour pH and pH-impedance monitoring SIBO testing and hydrogen/methane breath tests.
Prepare calibrate operate and maintain GI physiology equipment to ensure accurate safe and reliable diagnostic measurements.
Monitor and support patients throughout procedures ensuring safety comfort dignity and adherence to clinical standards.
Work collaboratively with physicians to support the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal motility and functional disorders.
Explain investigations clearly obtain informed consent and provide comprehensive patient education in line with hospital policies.
Analyse complex diagnostic data and produce high-quality clinically relevant reports and documentation.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure full compliance with data protection confidentiality and governance requirements.
Contribute to service innovation quality improvement initiatives and the implementation of evidence-based best practice and emerging technologies.
Provide training supervision and mentorship to junior staff students and new team members supporting professional development within the service.
Participate in audit quality assurance risk management and service development activities aligned with organisational objectives.
Requirements
BSc in Clinical Measurement or equivalent as confirmed by the IICMP or
Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement.
Evidence of specialised training in Gastrointestinal Physiology obtained through accredited courses and/or structured experience in a motility laboratory.
A minimum of five years post-qualification experience working as a Gastrointestinal Physiologist.
Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in gastroenterology diagnostic investigations.
Strong organisational prioritisation and time-management skills within a clinical setting.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement audit and service development initiatives.
Management or supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
