Job Summary

Description

Basic Function of the Job:

Provide preventative maintenance repair installation testing and calibration of production equipment throughout factory including facilities equipment. Trouble shooting of equipment problems with respect to mechanical and electrical areas down to individual component level. Perform routine periodic testing of equipment to ensure key components functioning properly. Work with engineers and production personnel to optimize equipment uptime. Keep and maintain records for equipment repair/preventive maintenance. Scheduling of preventive maintenance procedures and minor facility repairs including plumbing and electrical.

Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technical AA degree in general engineering or equivalent industrial experience.

Experience:
  • 2 years applicable experience in manufacturing setting in relation to repair and maintenance aspects of production and testing equipment using power tools lifting and measurement/diagnostic tools.
  • Understanding of technical drawing and basic engineering principals to repair and maintain of production equipment.
  • Experience in mechanical and technical trouble shooting of equipment problems.
  • Hands on and very direct approach to problems and needs of production demand.
  • Work as a part of a team to perform testing including data analysis for equipment performance.
  • Experience with networked PC based computer system

  • Ability to anticipate and handle multiple priorities and complex/abstract issues involving external and internal priorities under time constraints.
  • Ability to identify the required parts necessary to fix the problems and locate suppliers to obtain the parts necessary for repair/maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:Probable errors may be serious involving major losses. Improper costs loss or holding up production waste of material damage to equipment etc.

Job Conditions Work Environment:

Somewhat undesirable working conditions. Exposed to noise dust heat oil or other elements but not continuously.

Mental/Visual Demand:

Flow of work and type of duties involve constant normal mental and visual demand along with manual coordination for over 50% of the time.

Supervision:Under immediate supervisor with assignments.

  2. Maintenance scheduling conflicts resolved without any interruption of production capacity.
  3. Parts and supplies obtained prior to preventive maintenance due date.
  4. Communication with production personnel to get feedback about equipment performance as well as to provide feedback about maintenance performed.
  5. Seek help to complete the tasks if problems arise to complete the task on time.
  6. Identify potential opportunities for better utilization of equipment and bring them to attention of area process engineers supervisors or operators for better performance.
  7. Review of equipment maintenance history to update maintenance schedule periodically.

2) Repair of broken

equipment

  1. Respond to equipment break down right away with prompt attention.
  2. Seek and find suppliers for spare parts required to fix broken equipment as fast as possible.
  3. Hands on repair and maintenance of equipment with operator help in a safe manner.
  4. Documentation of repairs clearly noted in maintenance records.
  5. Quality repairing achieved with no repeated breaks of components initially failed.

3) Design and modification of production equipment for improvement

10%

  1. Maintain maintenance shop facilities for design and implementation of new equipment for production.
  2. Modification of production equipment for safe operation and productivity increase.
  3. Installation of new equipment including taking it into operation and training of operators.
  4. Coordinate with external/internal supplier to ensure equipment is working properly and all required spare parts are in maintenance stores.

4) Documentation and Business

10%

  1. Preventive maintenance record keeping is maintained properly with just-in-time record keeping practice.
  2. Department processes are reviewed/audited for continuous improvement cycle time and cost reduction opportunities
  3. Department processes are ISO9001 compliant
  4. Role model for Quality Customer Satisfaction Employee Satisfaction and Business Results
  5. Set a high standard of ethics professionalism leadership competency and quality

5) Organize & Clean5%
  1. Personal work area along with common areas are kept clean neat and organized on a daily basis.
  2. Follow safety rules without violations. Any safety concerns or issues are reported to supervisor.
  3. Lead as a model for safe work area practices and supports others when issues arise.
  4. Works with hazardous materials in accordance with department procedures.

6) Human Resources / Administrative

10%

A) An ESGP is co-developed and pursued.

  1. Department information systems records reports and metrics are accurate and generated on time
  2. Company policy is followed regarding all safety environmental and quality requirements.
  3. Company Technology Control Plan IP protection and Export Compliance requirements are understood and properly followed.
  4. Relevant IT and Quality procedures are understood and properly executed.

10) Special Assignments5%
  1. Attend all meetings and training as required.
  2. Support special projects as required.
  3. Report on projects and make recommendations to upper Management.

Working Conditions

  • Training period will be Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm and will move to a night/weekend shift.
