Process Lead GL

To execute and manage General Ledger activities including GL reconciliations trial balance review scrutiny of abnormal transactions provision accounting asset accounting closure lease liability accounting and monthly financial reporting. The role ensures accuracy compliance with CFD guidelines timely month-end closure and effective coordination with internal stakeholders to support reliable financial statements.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Regular review of trial balances across segments.
• Monitor GL accounts based on set parameters.
• Scrutinize abnormal transactions and execute rectifications.
• Regroup sub-ledger balances per CFD guidelines.
• Reconcile interunit accounts and resolve differences.
• Account for provisions and reverse unnecessary liabilities.
• Support asset accounting closure considering asset movement.
• Create lease liabilities and process monthly adjustments.
• Upload trial balance to Hyperion after monthly close.
• Provide schedules and information to CFD and Corp Governance.
• Ensure MIS accuracy and support statutory/tax audit teams.
• Ensure timely closure of metal accounting (DA/CA).

Major Challenges Associated with these Responsibilities:

• Complex Trial Balance Management: Handling multiple entities trial balances identifying anomalies ensuring accuracy under tight deadlines.
• Data Integrity & System Dependencies: Ensuring correctness of GL data across SAP modules resolving mismatches between sub-ledgers and GL.
• Interunit Reconciliations: Managing large volumes of interunit transactions resolving aging items coordinating with multiple units.
• Provision & Liability Accuracy: Ensuring adequacy of provisions monitoring reversals compliance with accounting guidelines.
• Asset & Lease Accounting Complexity: Handling fixed asset movements depreciation accuracy lease liability computations per accounting standards.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Dependence on multiple teamsAP AR FA CFD Plantsfor data confirmations and documentation.
• Audit Preparedness: Providing accurate schedules and evidence for statutory/tax/Internal audit addressing queries promptly.
