This one-year paid position provides administrative and research support to the departmental (veterinary nutrition pest control) operations and staff especially Director of Veterinary Services clinical veterinarians and veterinary residents.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary focus of the position is medical record searches literature management maintenance of residency course schedule and documentation; maintenance of departmental social media; and providing departmental administrative support including interview scheduling accounting interface and departmental record flow. As the intern gains experience with their role duties will be expanded to include veterinary assistant activities and rounds shadowing when primary duties are fulfilled.
SCHEDULE: Routinely available to work any of regular workdays (Monday-Friday) as full- or nearly full-time (5-8 hour days); available to work emergency or special events that may occur outside of regular work schedule including evenings weekends or holidays when needed. Total work week is paid at 40 hours/week at Illinois minimum wage includes overtime and state-required time off benefits.

Qualified applicants will have entirely completed their undergraduate college studies by the time of the commencement of the program. Preference will be given to those individuals with degrees in the biological sciences or pre-veterinary medicine or with future plans for entry into veterinary school. Further preference will be given to those individuals with prior administrative experience data entry experience or medical record experience in ZIMS TRACKS or similar medical or veterinary computerized record system.
