Job Summary:
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of medical linen and clothing to and from the main location to the service depot locations maintain accurate driver log book and address any concerns with supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Deliver clean product to service depot location in either NJ or Long Island NY.
- Return soiled product from Long Island NY and NJ to Connecticut for processing.
- Route hours will be Sunday - Thursday night from 9pm - 6am.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with branch and plant managers.
- Maintain accurate driver log book.
- Recommend and execute all changes as requested by supervisor.
- Communicate with supervisor as needed to resolve concerns or issues.
- Observe and practice corporate and safety procedures and safety protocols relating to handling of product and driving.
- Schedule Routine Maintenance and report all vehicle issues to the appropriate party.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills & Abilities:
- One year of route work experience preferred. Proven experience with long distance routes a plus.
- Well-developed knowledge and skills in decision-making teamwork task orientation efficiency accuracy and working independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Physical Requirements:
Appearance: Associates will be required to wear clothing that is always in accordance with the companys dress code policy.
PPE: Protective equipment is not required to perform essential job functions.
While performing the duties of this position associates will be required to sit for significant and/or prolonged periods of time while at their workstation. Associate may be required to stand walk and/or walk up and down stairs/steps frequently throughout the workday. Normal lifting of up to 10 pounds is required. When at their work area Associate is in a temperature-controlled environment with minimal possible exposure to extreme temperatures (heat cold humidity etc.). Noise level is low or what could be expected in an office environment. Travel is not required. Overtime may be required. Voluntary overtime requires prior supervisory approval.
Required Credentials:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required (4 year bachelors degree is preferred or the equivalent combination of education military or relevant work experience)
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record required at all times.
- Minimum of one year of CDL Class A driving experience required.
- In addition to these requirements you will need to pass a DOT physical pre-employment drug screening and lifting assessment testing.
