The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Senior Human Resources Analyst! In this role you will play a key role in advising managers and employees on a wide range of human resources topics in a dynamic public sector environment. As a working supervisor you will lead and perform functions across multiple human resources areas including but not limited to recruitment and selection classification and compensation benefits administration and employee relations.
While this classification is utilized citywide the current vacancy is with the Berkeley Public Library where you will oversee human resources operations for staff across all library locations representing an opportunity to make an impact while supporting a vital community resource.
A typical way of gaining the knowledge skills and abilities for this position is:
Possession of a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration human resources management industrial relations or a closely related field; and four (4) years of professional human resources experience in more than one HR functional area or program which includes at least one (1) year experience functioning in a lead capacity. Additional professional-level relevant work experience may be substituted for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.
Other requirements include:
Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business maintenance of a valid California drivers license and satisfactory driving record is required.
