Position Summary
The Support Worker will provide assistance to clients in accordance with their individual NDIS plans promoting independence safety and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to clients in line with their NDIS goals and support plans
Assist with daily living activities including eating dressing bathing and grooming
Provide transportation support to appointments and community activities
Deliver respite care to clients and their families when required
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client care plans and progress notes
Communicate effectively with clients families and other members of the care team
Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure client well-being
Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with NDIS best practices
Important Note:
Please note that Point Care does not offer visa sponsorship. Applicants must have valid working rights in Australia at the time of application.
Requirements
- Female support workers only as required by the client
- Holds a valid Australian drivers licence and has access to an insured vehicle
- Experience with PBSP and restrictive practices is essential
- Minimum of a high school certificate or equivalent
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability Aged Care or related field) or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded)
- Lived experience and/or paid experience supporting people with disability
- Must be currently located in Australia at the time of application
- Must hold valid work rights and lawful permission to live and work in Australia (visa sponsorship is not available)
- Availability to work across day shifts night shifts sleepovers and weekends
- Strong understanding of the NDIS and its Practice Standards
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and duty of care obligations
- Ability to support a diverse client base with cultural awareness and sensitivity to varying abilities backgrounds and communication needs
- Basic care skills including first aid (or willingness to obtain)

Required Skills:
With an active Blue and Yellow Card. Previous PBSP and Restrictive Practice Experience is a MUST!!! Minimum Cert III or higher (or willing to obtain one). A minimum completion of a high school or equivalent Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Experience with CRM software and NDIS portals. Understanding of health and safety regulations. Ability to work with a diverse client base understanding the different support needs of clients based on their abilities cultural backgrounds and language requirements. Basic care and first aid skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
