The Role:
We are hiring a proactive and detailed-oriented Senior Accountant to support key functions of our month-end close daily operations compliance and reporting processes. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment has strong analytical and communication skills and is committed to maintaining high standard of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and throughout the organization.
What You Will Do:
-Prepare accurate and timely journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close activities
Manage and maintain the fixed asset schedule including supporting documentation and policy to ensure appropriate capital classification
Compile financial statements and provide detailed flux analysis commentary as necessary
Review investigate and resolve discrepancies and inconsistencies in financial entries documents and reports
Manage end-to-end payroll processing with accuracy and timeliness maintain compliance with federal state and local regulations liaise with state agencies for tax filings and audits and promptly resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies
Prepare and review invoices and bills ensuring all supporting documentation is attached prior to obtaining approvals and processing timely payments
Identify and reconcile prepaid and other accounts correcting any posting errors to ensure accurate and compliant accounting treatment
Review and validate all company credit card transactions ensuring appropriate documentation and alignment with policies
Manage 1099 filings and provide support for all corporate tax and business-related filings
Monitor compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies; escalate and communicate potential risks or issues to management in a timely manner
Assist in review procedures filings and audits by providing information and responding to stakeholder requests and inquiries
What You Will Bring:
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or related field (preferred)
5 years of experience in general ledger accounting experience (in BioTech Life Sciences or related industry a plus)
Strong understanding of US GAAP principles
Proficient with Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks (preferred)
Strong written verbal and interpersonal skills across a diverse audience of business stakeholders in both technical and non-technical forums
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced or start-up environment effectively prioritize tasks meet deadlines and work independently with limited resources and supervision
Proactive and hands-on with a can-do attitude and the ability to identify and resolve issues to effectively manage and minimize risks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and a focus on ensuring data integrity and accuracy
Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders by proactively managing requests and consistently seeking opportunities for process improvements
