Technology Coordinator
Purpose Statement
The job ofTechnology Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of overseeing day-to-day operations of the infrastructure technology team; maintaining technology systems including but not limited to access points Google security cameras computer upgrades software and hardware upgrades ensuring efficient day-to-day operations; purchasing planning and long-term vision of technology infrastructure maintenance installation expansion and innovation.
Preference given to those who apply prior to January 28 2026.
This position is a classified role on a12 month (251 days) work calendar with vacation sick and personal days provided. Salary will be determined based on years of job-related experience.
This job reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations and collaborates with Coordinator of Digital Learning & Assessment.
Requirements:
Job-related experience required; applicants with technology background Cisco Networkcertifications and coding preferred. Bachelors degree in related technology field preferred but not required.
Essential Functions:
- Compiles technology data from a wide variety of sources for the purpose of analyzing issues ensuring compliance with organization policies and procedures and/or monitoring program components.
- Coordinatesdepartment operations; the maintenance of services and the implementation of new programs and/or processes for the purpose of providing services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements.
- Facilitates and participates in meetings on a variety of technology issues for the purpose of identifying issues developing recommendations supporting other staff and serving as a District representative.
- Administers systems and servers related to district LAN and WAN (e.g. email systems accounts print queue workstations ID IP assignments computer labs classroom computers VOIP security anti-virus spyware etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of services to authorized users.
- Investigates grant opportunities for the purpose of purchasing and developing instructional technology resources.
- Manages the development of the district wide area and local area networks for the purpose of ensuring the efficient growth and development of productivity computing for students teachers classified/support staff district administrators and Board members.
- Monitors budget allocations expenditures fund balances and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate revenues are recorded expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are followed.
- Performs personnel administrative functions (e.g. interviewing hiring supervising evaluating providing professional development opportunities etc.) for the purpose of maintaining necessary staffing enhancing productivity of staff and ensuring necessary department/program outcomes are achieved.
- Researches topics and trends related to current and emerging technology (e.g. relevant policies current practices staffing requirements financial resources etc.) for the purpose of developing new programs/services ensuring program compliance with established requirements securing general information and/or responding to requests.
- Responds to technology issues involving staff conflicts in policies and regulations community concerns parental requests that may result in some negative impact and/or liability if not appropriately addressed for the purpose of identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action that will efficiently resolve the issues.
- Collaborates with a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. administrators district staff database administrator computer technicians users etc) to generate maintain and interpret reports in SSRS for the purpose of providing and receiving information to ensure continuous program capabilities.
- Configures on-site network systems (e.g. servers routers network security etc.) for the purpose of ensuring efficient operations.
- Ensures internet safety for the purpose of maintaining an effective internet filter for students and staff and controlling email spam and malware.
- Installs network (client and server) software on a variety of platforms (e.g. service packs application software etc.) for the purpose of upgrading and maintaining District network systems.
- Monitors a variety of computer systems and functions (e.g. WAN/LAN connections network traffic performance etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that District computer systems are secure and resources are used effectively.
- Develops computerized solutions (e.g. customizing and/or designing electronic documents creating and/or updating user databases specialized queries etc.) for the purpose of providing users with information customized to their specific needs.
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. staff administrators school site personnel outside vendors and service providers etc.) for the purpose of providing technical assistance advice and support.
Other Functions
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; directing
other persons within a small work unit; monitoring budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. There is some opportunity to effect the organizations services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional
lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling significant stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine
finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting 40% walking and 40% standing. The job is performed in a
generally hazard free environment and in a clean atmosphere.
