Tool and Die Maker

Electromac Tool a division Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping has an immediate opportunity for a Tool & Die Maker in our Windsor Ontario Tool Build Facility. The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for ensuring tooling meets process expectations. The ideal candidate will have good manual dexterity be detail-oriented and self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities:

• Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools.
• Position secure measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining.
• Fit and assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools and test completed tools dies jigs or fixtures for proper operation
• Work directly with all manufacturing groups ensuring tooling meets process expectations
• Work directly with tooling suppliers in build to print or design and build situations to ensure tools meet expectations
• Analyze manufacturing and tooling problems and formulate solutions
• Make repairs and adjustments as needed
• Suggest new methods and processes for quality improvements or cost savings

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience in die build and tryout
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate oral and written instructions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time/ lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Able to work Days/Afternoons rotation and required OT

Preferred Qualifications:

• Trade certification
• Experience in Manufacturing an asset
• Ability to travel for tool support and buyoffs preferred
• Ability to TIG weld tool steel preferred

The pay range for this role is $30.00/hour to $45.00/hour.
