The Senior Demand and Capacity Planner helps make gospel teachings resources or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way supporting the mission of
the Church. This role exists to evaluate the adequacy of MMD global processes to meet forecasted demand; assess the utility and effectiveness of capacity utilization
across processes and worldwide; design and recommend global solutions that address and optimize capacity needs; and assess the need for third-party resources.
Also this role will coordinate closely with the product development process owners product managers and production managers in developing strategic initiatives
to optimize global process capacity. This is an advanced professional functioning in an individual contributor capacity who is expected to function independently
and recognized as a subject matter expert. The Senior Planner may guide review and delegate daily work of lower-level team members.
Responsibilities
Performs market level forecasting of targets and fill rate achievement for domestic and international plans.
Coordinates with MMD divisions to prepare short-term production planning as well as long-term recommendations to address capacity deficit/surplus conditions including recommending changes in the timing of work flowing through processes flexing of staff size and/or outsourcing work.
Develops integrates and provides account or brand-specific forecasts for internal sales and operations planning which includes replenishment data point-of sale data sales promotion information marketing plans manufacturing capacity and new distribution/product deletions.
Maximizes account sales and inventory turns by forecasting consumer demand and developing optimal product assortments and replenishment inventory strategies domestic and international.
Assists in the improvement of demand forecasting accuracy for internal customers including determining the appropriate algorithm for statistical forecasts.
Maintains and manages product history accurate forecasting and promotional demand.
Analyzes internal demand stream information and categorizes according to demand patterns.
Assigned difficult and complex problems and projects with limited oversight from manager.
Identifies key sales indicators for specific products to provide the sales department with relevant analysis and guidance with respect to decision-making.
Creates and analyzes reports for leaders of MMD and partnering organizations to share the status of global capacity throughput and related global capacity solutions.
May present reports and solutions to leadership councils.
Provides input into the strategic process of identifying initiatives to optimize global capacity.
Creates and implements global strategic initiatives for MMD process managers and operations staff.
Provides updates regularly to MMD product management and department sponsors to forecast demand changes with product changes.
Monitors and reports status of initiative implementation and results achieved in relation to results planned.
Applies analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers etc. This is largely a sedentary role requiring some bending and standing as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business finance or related field with 7 years experience in forecasting financial analysis logistics or other related experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge of supply chain processes.
High level Microsoft Office skills including Excel PowerPoint and Word.
Detail-orientated and analytical.
Good communication skills both written and oral.
