Compensation: $90000 $120000 base (depending on experience)

HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a seasoned highly skilled Tax Senior to join one of our valued client partners. HireNow Staffing is acting as a direct placement partner for this public accounting tax role.
Position Overview
The Tax Senior will serve as a core contributor within an established CPA firm environment responsible for preparing and supporting a wide range of federal and multi-state tax engagements. This role requires strong technical preparation skills increasing exposure to review responsibilities and the ability to manage deadlines in a structured in-office setting.
This is a production-driven role suited for a tax professional who demonstrates accuracy consistency and steady career progression within public accounting.
Core Responsibilities

Prepare federal and multi-state tax returns (-S)

Manage tax engagements from preparation through completion

Support tax compliance and planning initiatives for closely held businesses and individuals

Assist with preliminary review of work prepared by junior staff

Respond to client inquiries and follow up on documentation requests

Maintain detailed workpapers and supporting documentation

Adhere to firm processes quality standards and filing deadlines

Manage workload efficiently during peak tax seasons
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
Candidates must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for interview:

36 years of recent public accounting tax experience
-
Strong hands-on preparation experience across individual and business returns
-
Exposure to federal and multi-state taxation
-
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines

Solid technical tax foundation and attention to detail

Stable employment history with minimal job changes

Ability to work fully onsite in Lincolnshire IL
Candidates without consistent public accounting experience or demonstrated preparation expertise across core return types will not be considered. Jumpy resumes will not be accepted.
Preferred Qualifications

Active CPA license or active pursuit of CPA designation

Experience supporting tax planning engagements

Exposure to high-net-worth individual returns

Early-stage review experience
Masters degree in taxation (plus)
