Job Title: Temporary Aide - GT
Dept./School:Human Resources Department
Pay Grade: $15.00/hour
Primary Purpose:
Work collaboratively with the District G/T teacher to help facilitate learning experiences that promote critical thinking creativity problem-solving and academic growth while aligning with district guidelines and the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Effective public relations organization communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to speak read and understand English.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.
Experience:
1 year of education and/or instructional support experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support
- Support the implementation of differential instruction and enrichment aligned to the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students.
- Assist in planning and facilitating G/T lessons projects and inquiry-based learning experiences.
- Work with small groups or individual students to extend learning support project development and promote higher-level thinking skills.
Other
- Provide clerical assistance as needed.
- Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents as required.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used:Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment.
Posture:Frequent standing; kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting.
Motion:Frequent walking and reaching.
Lifting:Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
Environment:Work at multiple elementary schools inside/outside.
Mental Demands:Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
